Privacy Policy
Ayaah is built to keep your worship private. This policy explains what the app stores, where, and why.
The short version
Your progress, journal and settings are saved on your phone. Your location never leaves your phone. We do not show ads, sell your data, or use tracking for advertising.
Stored on your phone
Your name, learning progress, review schedule, streak, mood check-ins, journal reflections, saved ayahs, reading position and settings are stored on your device. Quran text you open is cached on your device so it works offline.
Location
If you allow it, your approximate location is used only on your phone to calculate prayer times. You can choose a city instead of sharing your location. Your location is not uploaded to our servers.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional. You can sign in with your email, Google or Apple. If you do, we store your email address, the name you give, and a copy of your progress, journal and settings on our cloud database (Supabase) so you can restore them on another device. Only you can read your copy. Your journal is private and is never used for anything else.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to confirm whether you have an active Ayaah Plus subscription. We never see your card or payment details.
Content and audio
To show the Quran and play recitations, the app requests text and audio from alquran.cloud, Quran.com and their content networks. Like any website, these services can see your IP address when a file is requested.
Photos and sharing
If you add a profile photo, it stays on your phone and is never uploaded. Images you share (ayahs, hadith, reflections, progress) are made on your phone and go only where you choose to send them.
Notifications
Prayer and lesson reminders are scheduled on your phone. You can turn them off in Settings or in your phone's notification settings.
Your choices
Settings → Export my data copies everything the app holds about you. Settings → Delete my account deletes your account and everything in it, from this phone and from our servers, straight away. You can also ask us by email at [email protected].
Children
Ayaah is suitable for families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what a parent enters in the app.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
